Ventilation accessories are the components that connect, complete and protect the main equipment in a ventilation system. An installation fitted with quality fans and grilles but with neglected or undersized accessories will be noisy, will lose air through unsealed joints and will operate below its designed parameters. The quality of ventilation accessories directly determines the quality of the finished installation.
Flexible ducting is the essential element for decoupling vibrations between the fan and the rigid ductwork — without a flexible sleeve, motor vibrations are transmitted throughout the duct network and into the building structure, producing residual noise even at low speeds. Control dampers are indispensable for correct installation balancing — every branch of the duct network must receive the designed airflow, otherwise some zones are under-ventilated and others over-ventilated. Rigid ductwork and accessories include circular and rectangular ducts, bends, branches, reducers, joining sleeves and all the infrastructure elements of the distribution network. Fan accessories complete equipment with protective guards, back-draught shutters, mounting brackets and anti-vibration mounts.
