Axial EC fans
Axial EC motor fans — maximum energy efficiency for direct extraction and duct installations
Axial fans with EC motors are the highest energy-efficiency direct extraction equipment available on the market. The EC — Electronically Commutated — motor replaces the AC asynchronous motor with a permanent magnet rotor and integrated electronic controller: no induction short circuits, no copper losses at partial loads, no external speed controller — everything is integrated in the unit. Motor efficiency reaches 90–95%, compared to 55–75% for AC motors, with the greatest difference at partial loads — the dominant operating regime in real installations.
The first choice for any axial ventilation application running more than 6–8 hours per day: industrial halls and warehouses with continuous ventilation, farms with permanent climate control, commercial buildings with controlled mechanical ventilation, plant rooms with continuous equipment cooling. In a warehouse running 4 EC axial fans of 1 kW for 12 hours per day, the difference compared to AC means 7,000–8,000 kWh saved annually.
Intelligent control is the second advantage: the integrated 0-10V or Modbus RTU signal allows direct connection to temperature or CO₂ sensors and BMS systems without additional equipment — the fan accelerates automatically when hall temperature rises and reduces speed at night or in winter.
The range includes wall-mounted and duct-mounted models, diameters 200–800 mm, single-phase and three-phase, in energy class A+ per EU Regulation 327/2011.
How to choose: selection criteria are identical to AC axial fans — airflow, static pressure, diameter, mounting type — with one additional element: the type of control signal compatible with the existing automation system (0-10V, PWM or Modbus). Existing AC speed controllers are not compatible with EC motors.
