ATEX axial fans circular casing — HBX and HCX series for Zones 1, 2 and 22

The HBX and HCX series from Casals are circular-casing axial fans designed exclusively for potentially explosive atmospheres. ATEX certification is part of the fundamental product construction — not an add-on — ensuring that every component (motor, rotor, casing, mounting system) has been evaluated by an accredited notified body as a functional assembly in an explosive environment.

HBX Series — certified ATEX II2G short-circuit motor, IP55 Class F. Circular casing with anti-corrosion protection through epoxy resin paint. Standard ATEX asynchronous motor with Ex d protection (flameproof motor — any internal explosion does not propagate to the surrounding explosive atmosphere). Suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 for gases and vapours, Zone 22 for dust.

HCX Series — certified ATEX II2G Ex-d, Ex-e / II3GD Ex-nA, motor and rotor in modular assembly — components replaced independently without dismantling the entire fan. Variable-angle aluminium blade rotor — airflow adjusted by changing blade angle without replacing the motor. Single-phase 230V and three-phase 230/400V supply.

Modular assembly — real operational advantage: in industrial installations where ATEX fans must be stopped for maintenance (standardised procedure in all classified areas), motor or rotor replacement is carried out quickly without recertifying the assembly. This significantly reduces planned downtime.

Applications: general exhaust in ATEX-classified halls, solvent and paint warehouse ventilation, local extraction in spray booths, fuel station pump room ventilation, pharmaceutical industry, rubber and plastics factories.

Available in diameters from 450 mm to 630 mm and above, powers from 0.25 kW to 1.1 kW and beyond, single-phase and three-phase.
