Box Axial ATEX fans are the wall or ceiling mounting configuration of ATEX-certified axial fans — the same HBX and HCX series in ATEX-certified execution, incorporated in the mounting box required for installation in wall openings or false ceilings of industrial buildings with classified zones.

Why the BOX is needed in practice: a standard ATEX axial fan with circular casing is designed for mounting on circular ductwork or circular openings. When the installation requires fitting the fan into a rectangular wall opening, a ceiling panel or any structure that does not allow direct fixing of the circular frame, the BOX casing provides the structural transition and enables fastening to the building structure without modifying the certified fan.

ATEX certification is not lost through box mounting: the BOX casing is designed as an accessory compatible with the fan's ATEX certification — casing materials and geometry are selected to avoid gas accumulation zones or spark-generating contact points.
