Plug COPRA Nicotra Gebhardt — the highest-efficiency EC plug fan for AHU, data centres and clean rooms
Nicotra Gebhardt COPRA plug fans represent the current top generation of EC plug fans — a platform designed specifically for critical environments where availability, efficiency and long-term reliability are non-negotiable: data centres, clean rooms, high-performance AHUs and large-scale CHVAC systems.
What differentiates COPRA from a standard EC plug fan:
The integrated IE6 motor — the highest electrical efficiency level currently available, above the IE5 standard — delivers 10% higher efficiency than traditional EC plug fans. Across a data centre with 40–60 COPRA units in ventilation, this 10% difference represents thousands of kWh saved annually compared to previous-generation equipment.
Compact internal rotor motor design: COPRA uses a short internal rotor motor positioned so it does not obstruct airflow into the rotor — eliminating the turbulence zones and aerodynamic intake losses characteristic of external rotor motors. The backward-curved aluminium rotor with optimised aerodynamic geometry maximises airflow and efficiency at all speeds — not only at nominal speed.
Factory-configured plug and play: every COPRA unit is delivered configured and tested at the factory — no parameterisation required at installation. Connect power and control signal (0-10V or Modbus RS485) and the fan operates directly at optimal parameters. Maintenance is greatly simplified: all components are quick-replace, no special tools required.
Direct retrofit: COPRA is explicitly designed for retrofitting existing installations with older AC or EC plug fans. Standardised footprints allow direct replacement of old equipment without modifying the AHU or enclosure, reducing downtime to a minimum.
Guaranteed availability: COPRA is manufactured at multiple Nicotra Gebhardt global facilities with permanently assured stock — essential for critical environments where a failed fan cannot wait weeks for delivery.
Typical applications: data centres (server room cooling, CRAC unit fans, in-row cooling), ISO Class 5–8 clean rooms for pharmaceutical, semiconductor and medical industries, high-performance AHUs for hospitals and laboratories, large commercial CHVAC systems and any installation where maximum fan availability and efficiency are non-negotiable system requirements.

When to choose COPRA over standard EC plug fans: whenever the installation operates continuously 24/7 (data centres, hospitals, clean rooms), whenever efficiency is certified or audited, and whenever guaranteed equipment availability is a contractual requirement. The cost per kWh saved over the service life justifies the premium over a standard EC plug fan.
