The COURSALIS is the ambient variant of the Casals COURSALIS range — equipped with a tangential fan but without a heating coil. This is the correct choice for spaces that already have an efficient heating/cooling system and do not require additional air heating at the entrance, but that lose thermal energy through frequent door opening.

Ambient versus heated air curtain — choosing correctly

An ambient air curtain creates a high-velocity air barrier across the door opening that significantly reduces air exchange between interior and exterior when the door is open. It does not heat or cool the air — it blocks it. The result is reduced heat or cold loss from the interior, maintained stable climate and elimination of uncomfortable draughts.

Choose the ambient curtain instead of the heated version (COURSALIS E) when: the space has central heating or a heat pump with sufficient capacity; the local climate is moderate (no severe winters below -10°C); the space is air conditioned in summer — the ambient curtain also protects against exterior heat; purchase budget is the main factor; the space is a refrigerated warehouse or cold room — an ambient curtain maintains low temperature without unwanted heating.

Construction: tangential fan impeller in AS+fibreglass plastic — impact resistant, good thermal stability, suitable for continuous operation. White painted metal housing. Maximum air jet velocity: 2.2 m/s — sufficient for effective barrier at installation heights up to 3 m from floor. Remote control included: ambient mode, fan speed and stop. LED indicator shows current active mode. Air direction manually adjustable. Horizontal wall mounting above door with included brackets.
