90° Elbow Ø150mm — circular ventilation ductwork fitting, galvanised spiral sheet steel
Available in stock
90° elbow for Ø150mm circular ventilation ductwork — manufactured from galvanised spiral sheet steel, identical to standard rigid circular duct.
Achieves a 90° direction change with minimal pressure loss and complete seal at the joint.
Compatible with any standard Ø150mm circular duct — rigid spiral ductwork and standard joining sleeves.
Used in any residential, commercial or industrial ventilation installation where the duct must change direction at a right angle — wall corners, floor penetrations, structural obstacle bypass.

Construction — galvanised spiral sheet steel
The elbow is manufactured from galvanised spiral sheet steel — the same material and technology as standard rigid circular ductwork. Perfect compatibility with Ø150mm standard duct, mechanical resistance to installation loads and vibration, corrosion resistance from galvanised coating, and smooth internal surface minimising friction and deposit accumulation.
Correct installation of the 90° elbow
Insert the elbow end into the joining sleeve or directly into the straight duct with a minimum 30–40mm overlap. Ensure the elbow is fully inserted and correctly aligned. Apply sealing tape or ventilation silicone at the joint line. Support the duct with a suspension bracket within 30cm of each side of the elbow to prevent long-term deformation.
Pressure drop — practical implications
Each 90° elbow adds aeraulic resistance equivalent to approximately 3–5 metres of straight duct of the same diameter. For a Ø150mm installation with 4 elbows, this adds the equivalent of 12–20 metres of straight duct resistance. Account for all elbows in the system calculation, or choose a fan with 20–30% reserve over the calculated requirement.

Which installations use Ø150mm elbows
Ø150mm is the most common diameter in residential and small commercial ventilation:
- Casals Erelis 150T, Lidero 150 bathroom fans — Ø150mm connection
- Vent-Axia ACM 150 inline fan — Ø150mm
- Casals CHR 800 VMC unit — main Ø150mm connection
- Domestic and semi-professional kitchen extraction
- Plant room and dressing room ventilation
FAQ — EN
How many 90° elbows can I use in one installation? There is no fixed limit, but each elbow adds resistance equivalent to 3–5m of straight duct. For a correctly sized fan, 4–6 elbows are generally acceptable. Beyond this, recalculate whether the chosen fan can overcome total resistance.
Can I replace one 90° elbow with two 45° elbows? Yes — two 45° elbows produce less turbulence than one 90° elbow and have lower pressure drop. Where space allows, the two-45° option is more aerodynamically efficient.
How do I seal the elbow to the duct? Self-adhesive sealing tape or neutral silicone applied at the joint line. For higher-pressure installations (fan static pressure over 100 Pa) — add a metal clamp Ø150mm.
