Two rows of adjustable blades

The T2P grille has two rows of individually adjustable blades, mounted one behind the other and perpendicular to each other. The front row follows the 600 mm side, the rear row runs across it — letting you aim the air jet in both planes, sideways and vertically.

What 0.33 m² actually means

At 600x550 mm, its 0.33 m² face area is nearly five times that of a 450x150 mm grille.

The technical consequence is what matters: at the same airflow, a larger area means lower outlet velocity. And velocity is what drives noise.

Aerodynamic noise rises steeply with air velocity through the blades. An undersized grille produces a permanent hiss in the room — and that cannot be fixed after installation without breaking out the wall and fitting a larger grille.

Practical rule: choose the largest grille that fits the available opening. An oversized grille never causes problems; an undersized one causes a permanent one.

Longer throw

The second, less obvious advantage of the large format: the air jet reaches further.

At the same airflow, a large grille produces a wider, more coherent jet that holds its direction over a greater distance before dispersing. In deep rooms — halls, showrooms, conference rooms — that means conditioned air actually reaches the occupied zone at the far end, not just the first few metres from the wall.

Combined with double deflection, which allows this long jet to be aimed precisely, the 600x550 mm format covers situations where a single grille must serve a large area.

Seasonal adjustment — essential in large spaces

• In cooling, cold air is denser and falls by itself; aim the jet horizontally so it mixes along its path before descending into the occupied zone
• In heating, warm air rises and stratifies; aim the blades downwards to push heat towards people

In tall rooms, the winter setting is the difference between a system that actually heats and one that fills the ceiling with warm air while it stays cold at head height. Being a large grille with strong authority on both axes, the T2P 600x550 can correct this — which a small grille cannot.

Construction

Anodised aluminium — the oxide layer protects the metal against corrosion, does not flake and withstands repeated cleaning.

Electrostatic RAL painting to order. At this size the grille is a visible element in the room, so painting to match the wall or ceiling is frequently specified by architects.

Note on installation: at 0.33 m², fixing must be made properly into the wall structure, not just the finish layer. Also check that the wall opening is built to the correct size before ordering.

What airflow passes through a 600x550 mm grille? It depends on the permitted outlet velocity and the acceptable noise level — a conference room and a production hall are sized differently at the same grille size. Is it too large for an ordinary room? Probably. For offices, hotel rooms or apartments, 300x300, 400x200 or 500x200 are more appropriate. 600x550 mm is for large spaces with substantial airflow.

Does a larger grille really reduce noise? Yes, significantly. Aerodynamic noise rises steeply with air velocity through the blades, and velocity falls in proportion to area. At the same airflow, the difference between an undersized and a generous grille is clearly audible.
