What "D" means and why it matters

The letter D in the code indicates the volume control damper, integrated behind the grille. It is the only feature separating this product from a standard TEP grille — and in certain installations, it is the decisive one.

The 200x200 mm format

At 0.04 m² face area, this is the smallest format in the range, used for low airflows: individual bathrooms and WCs, small offices and consulting rooms, plant rooms, store cupboards, and secondary extract points within a larger system.

Being square, it fits one way only — no risk of reversing dimensions when ordering.

Can the blades be adjusted? No — the blades are fixed at 45°. What adjusts on this grille is the damper, which controls airflow, not direction. For adjustable blades you need a supply grille.

How is the damper adjusted? From the grille face, with a screwdriver or the provided handle. No need to remove the grille or work on the ductwork.

When do I need a damper? When you have several extract points on the same run. Without dampers, the first grilles take most of the air and the last get almost none — and on extract this isn't felt, it's discovered late, through damp and odours.

Does the closed damper stop the air completely? It greatly reduces airflow, but it is not a sealing damper with a gasket. For tight shut-off, use a backdraught or dedicated sealing damper.
