The TEP grille has one row of fixed blades set at 45°. The blades are not adjustable — and there is no reason for them to be.

On extract, stale air is drawn out of the room: it enters from every direction at once, whatever the blade angle. Direction cannot be controlled and doesn't need to be.

Adjustable-blade grilles (single or double deflection) belong on supply.

Why filter an extract grille

A fair question: if the air is leaving the room anyway, why filter it?

The reason isn't the quality of the extracted air — it's protecting the installation.

Everything that rises from the room passes through the extract grille: dust, textile fibres, particles from whatever happens in the space. Without a filter, all of it reaches the ductwork and the fan impeller.

What happens over time:

• Deposits in the ductwork can no longer be cleaned — especially on runs concealed above ceilings or in risers
• Dust building up on the fan impeller unbalances it, increasing vibration and shortening bearing life
• The free duct cross-section gradually shrinks, so extract airflow drops

The grille filter stops coarse particles right at the inlet. It is the one preventive measure taken once, at installation, that works for the life of the system.

• The grille is mounted at accessible height, on a wall, where removal isn't a problem

The 450x450 mm format

At 0.2 m² face area, this format suits medium to high airflows: small office buildings, consulting rooms, guesthouses, shops, retail spaces.

The large area also helps the filter: the greater the filtering surface, the slower it clogs and the longer the intervals between changes. At this size, even without a removable front, maintenance stays infrequent.
