What "SR" means and why it matters

In installations with exposed round ductwork — industrial halls, restaurants, showrooms, offices with visible services — air has to leave the duct and be distributed into the room.

The classic solution requires a rectangular branch, a plenum box and an adaptor onto which the grille is then fitted: more parts, more labour, more space and more joints losing air.

The SR version removes all of that. The grille frame is galvanised and saddle-profiled to the duct curvature, so it fixes straight into the side of the round duct. Cut the opening, fix the frame, seal it — done.

⚠️ Check the duct diameter before ordering

This is the decisive check on any SR grille: the frame is profiled for a specific duct diameter. If your ductwork differs, the frame won't seat correctly on the curve and sealing becomes impossible.

The 700x150 mm size refers to the visible part of the grille — the opening the air passes through, not the duct.

Double deflection on ductwork — why it matters more here

The grille has two rows of individually adjustable blades, perpendicular to each other: one aims the air sideways, the other vertically.

On exposed ductwork, adjustment matters even more than on wall grilles. The reason is position: the duct usually runs down the middle of the room or along a corridor, at height. Without adjustment, air would blow straight down onto the people below.

With double deflection, the jet can be aimed sideways into the occupied zones and raised or lowered by season — avoiding direct draughts entirely.

The 700x150 mm format

The near 5:1 ratio is typical of duct grilles: the elongated shape follows the duct's generatrix rather than cutting across its circumference. On a round duct, a taller grille would exceed the usable flat area of the curve.

At 0.105 m² face area and 700 mm long, this is one of the largest formats in the SR range — suited to high airflow at a single supply point: halls, large retail spaces, restaurants, showrooms.

The front blades run parallel to the 700 mm side, i.e. along the duct axis in normal installation.

Seasonal adjustment

• In cooling, cold air is denser and falls by itself; aim the jet horizontally or slightly upwards so it mixes before reaching the occupied zone
• In heating, warm air rises and stratifies; aim the blades downwards to push heat towards people

On ductwork mounted at height, in halls or tall spaces, the winter setting is essential — otherwise the heat stays under the roof and the occupied zone never warms up.

Versions available to order

Our recommendation: with several grilles on the same run, choose the SR-D version. Without dampers, the first grilles on the duct "steal" the air and the last ones get almost none — a problem that cannot be fixed after installation without working on the ductwork.

Is it wall or duct mounted? Round duct only. The galvanised frame is profiled to the duct curvature, so it won't sit flat on a wall. For wall mounting, use the standard T2P version with a flat frame.

What duct diameter do I need? The frame is profiled for a specific diameter. Tell us your ductwork diameter and we'll confirm whether this model fits.

How is it fitted to the duct? Cut the opening in the side of the duct, fix the galvanised frame onto the curve and seal around it. It is an installer's job, far simpler than fitting a plenum with an adaptor.

Can I control airflow as well as direction? Not from the blades. For airflow, choose the T2P-SR-D version with an integrated damper, or fit a separate damper on the branch.
