700x200 mm Gravity Wall Grille, RAL 8015

What it does

When the fan starts, extracted air pushes the louvres and the grille opens by itself. When the fan stops, the louvres fall back under their own weight and close the wall opening. No motor, no power supply, nothing to adjust.

RAL 8015: which façades

RAL 8015 is chestnut brown — the standard shade for brown PVC or aluminium joinery, timber façade elements, brown or red-brown roof tiles, and rustic buildings.

Why it matters: a natural silver aluminium grille stands out on any coloured façade. On a house with brown joinery, a shiny 70 cm metal rectangle is visible from the street. Painted RAL 8015, the grille blends in — or disappears entirely next to matching joinery.

The paint is applied electrostatically at the factory: the powder polymerises onto the metal, so it doesn't flake, doesn't yellow under UV and never needs repainting.

The long format: 700x200 mm

At a 3.5:1 ratio, this is the most elongated gravity grille in the range.

Aesthetically: a long low grille reads as a horizontal line on the façade. A square grille of the same area would be far more conspicuous.

Technically: at the same free area, the elongated format spreads air over a greater width, so velocity drops. The discharge jet no longer blows concentrated towards a path, terrace or neighbouring window — particularly useful at plinth level or where people pass.

⚠️ The louvres must be horizontal

This is the one critical installation rule, and it is purely mechanical — not about appearance or air direction.

The louvres close under their own weight, so they must be horizontal. Fit the grille with the 700 mm side horizontal. Rotated, the louvres become vertical and the mechanism stops working: the grille stays permanently open.

Test before fixing: push the louvres with a finger. If they open and fall back by themselves, the orientation is right.

The bridge system — why it matters on long formats

At 700 mm wide the grille has more louvres than the small models. Without a link between them, some would open and others wouldn't, and the grille would work unevenly.

The bridge system ties the louvres together so they open and close simultaneously across the full width. The longer the grille, the more this matters.

What colour is RAL 8015? Chestnut brown — the shade commonly used for brown PVC joinery, timber elements and rustic façades. Other RAL colours available to order.

Can it be used for fresh air intake? No. It works on the pressure of air leaving, so extract only.

My opening is vertical, not horizontal. What now? We can supply the reversed version (200x700). The grille cannot be fitted rotated — the louvres would no longer fall under their own weight.

Does it have an insect mesh? No separate mesh — the closed louvres block access.
