Why is external motor mandatory for professional kitchen hoods? Extracted kitchen air contains grease vapour, oil and food particles. In fans with internal motors, this air passes through the motor depositing grease on windings — fire and failure risk. In CF HP 300, the IE3 motor is completely separated from extracted airflow, cooled only by external air through the IP55 housing.

Can I control the speed with a variable frequency drive? Yes — the datasheet specifies "variable speed, controllable in voltage and frequency". The three-phase IE3 motor is compatible with three-phase VFDs. A VFD enables soft start, speed reduction during low-activity periods (energy saving) and precise airflow control.

What real airflow should I expect with 8 metres of duct and 2 × 90° bends? At 8 metres Ø315mm duct + 2 × 90° bends, estimated total aeraulic resistance is 200–280 Pa. At this pressure, the CF HP 300 T4 2 delivers 5,500–6,200 m³/h. Always design installations based on real airflow at calculated pressure.

How often must the impeller be cleaned? Recommended interval: every 3 months for intensive cooking (grills, fryers), every 6 months for moderate cooking. Clean with warm water and degreaser, motor electrically isolated (permit-to-work procedure mandatory).
