What HJBM PLUS means versus a standard axial fan

The HJBM PLUS features a squared frame in galvanised steel sheet with C4 anti-corrosion finish, variable pitch angle polyamide impeller reinforced with fibreglass, and a high efficiency standard asynchronous squirrel-cage motor with IP-55 protection (wiring box IP-65) and Class F insulation. 

C4 anti-corrosion finish — classification to ISO 12944 for high-corrosivity industrial environments: poultry farms with ammonia and hydrogen sulphide, chemical industry, industrial laundries, workshops with grease vapours. A fan with standard galvanised frame without C4 visibly degrades within 1–2 years in these environments. The HJBM PLUS C4 frame lasts decades under similar conditions.

Variable pitch blades — the key technical differentiator

At installation, blade pitch angle is adjusted mechanically within the model's design limits. The practical effect: the same fan can deliver different airflow rates depending on blade configuration — from reduced airflow with lower noise and consumption, to maximum airflow for demanding applications.

Concrete benefits of variable pitch:

• Optimise airflow exactly for the actual dimensions of the space, without buying a larger or smaller model
• Reduce airflow below nominal if noise is a criterion — relevant for farms or staffed spaces

HJBM PLUS 30 M4 vs other models in the range

M4 vs M2: The M4 (4-pole, 1,370 rpm) is significantly quieter than M2 (2-pole, 2,800 rpm, 3,920 m³/h, 56 dB(A)) at lower airflow. Choose M4 when noise matters — farms, staffed spaces. Choose M2 when maximum airflow is required and noise is not a limiting criterion.

Can speed be controlled with a variable frequency drive? Yes — the HJBM PLUS 30 M4 is compatible with single-phase variable frequency drives (VFD) and electronic speed controllers. Speed control allows fine adjustment of airflow after installation, independently of blade pitch.

What is the difference between C4 finish and standard galvanising? Standard galvanising protects against normal atmospheric corrosion. C4 finish to ISO 12944 provides protection in high-corrosivity industrial environments — grease vapours, ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, light chemical compounds. Estimated service life in C4 environments: 15+ years versus 3–5 years for standard finishes.

Can it operate continuously 24/7? Yes — the Class F insulated squirrel-cage motor is designed for continuous operation at temperatures up to 50°C. Estimated service life at continuous operation: 30,000–50,000 hours.

Is an electrician required for installation? Electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Mechanical installation (wall mounting) can be performed by anyone with basic industrial DIY experience.
